IN PHOTOS: Newly hired employees from various units of the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman have gathered online and in person for the three-day SIBOL: An Orientation Program for the New Employees of UP Diliman.
Held virtually on August 27 and 30, and on ground at the De Los Reyes Auditorium, UP School of Labor and Industrial Relations on September 20, 2024, 83 employees hired from February to July of this year participated at the second batch of the SIBOL Orientation Program.
Thirty-four speakers from 26 government institutions, including the Civil Service Commission, Government Service Insurance System, Pag-IBIG, and PhilHealth, to name a few, and UP Diliman organizations and offices, such as the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, the different sections of the Human Resource Development Office (HRDO), and the Diliman Information Office, among others, bestowed the participants with vital information that will assist them in performing their roles as civil servants and personnel of UP Diliman and achieving their personal aspirations as members of the UP Diliman community.
To further help acquaint the new employees with the numerous programs and services they can avail from a wide array of organizations in UP Diliman, the HRDO invited the resource organizations to set up their respective booths for a booth fair during the third and last installment of the orientation program on September 20. This gave the employees the opportunity to inquire and learn more about the offerings of the different participating organizations.
Gracing the orientation program on its last day was Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II, who welcomed the employees as they embark on their fresh roles and settle in their new home at UP Diliman. Highlighting the significance of the employees’ functions to the realization of the vision and mission of UP as the National University, Chancellor Vistan encouraged the participants to stay true to the University’s mantra of upholding honor, making excellence a way of life, and being of service to the nation.
