NEWS: UsaPTayo! Fostering Collaboration among Administrative Officers

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Administration, through the Training Section of the UPD HRDO, successfully conducted a workshop dialogue entitled "UsaPTayo!" This program brought together ninety-five (95) administrative officers from various units across the University of the Philippines Diliman. It aimed to help them develop an effective onboarding plan, evaluate the effectiveness of current R&R programs and recommend improvements, introduce analysis tools to assess performance, develop a comprehensive Learning and Development plan for their unit, and lastly, to develop a communication plan to secure buy-in and commitment from unit representatives for the HR initiatives across the University.

The workshop spanned twelve (12) hours divided into three (3) sessions. The first session, held on April 23rd and 24th at Bonifacio Auditorium, School of Labor and Industrial Relations, covered topics from the Recruitment, Selection & Placement Pillar and the Rewards & Recognition Pillar, with Ms. Richelle Laggui, Section Head of Appointment Section, and Ms. Rhodora De Castro, Section Head of Recruitment Section, serving as speakers and facilitators. The second session, on April 25, 2024, was conducted online via Zoom. Ms. Glenda Glodoveza, Section Head of Monitoring and Evaluation Section, discussed the tools from the Performance Management Pillar, and Ms. Erika Jobette Del Mundo, Senior Extension Associate from the Training Section, discussed the initiatives of the Learning and Development Pillar. The final session on April 26th, held face-to-face at SOLAIR, focused on standardizing a communication plan.

The participants were able to share their best practices on the topics discussed and gathered ideas/strategies that they can apply in their respective units. During the last day, Atty. Regine Estillore-Gonda, UP Diliman Data Protection Officer, shared best practices for information dissemination compliant with the Data Privacy Act.

At the end of the program, participants and HRDO representatives, Ms. Rosell Tingco, Mr. Yong Estrada, and Ms. Leizel Lectura, agreed to implement the planned activities in the future and reaffirmed their commitment to fostering partnerships and upholding the spirit of being part of an institution that cares for the nation and its people.

Let's continue aligning with the university's values of democratic governance, responsible citizenship, and continuous improvement by strengthening the administration and its Administrative Officers for the benefit of the entire university.

A huge thank you to all the active participants who bravely shared their voices! We also extend our gratitude to School of Labor and Industrial Relations for hosting this memorable event.

See you on our next journey!
