STEP UP on AFDP empowers UP Diliman Employees with Financial Disbursement Processing Skills

The Skills Training and Enhancement Program for UP Employees (STEP UP) on Accounting for Financial Disbursement Processing recently concluded its second batch last August 22, 2024 at UP National Center for Transportation Studies, equipping participants with advanced financial disbursement processing skills. Held on four consecutive Thursdays, the 40-hour intensive training focused on practical applications, such as preparing various disbursement vouchers and coordinating with different departments for document preparation. Participants also learned about accounting standards, government regulations, and the proper use of accounting forms.

A culminating highlight of the program was the presentation of capstone projects, where each group developed a comprehensive manual to streamline their unit's financial operations. This practical exercise showcased their newly acquired skills and their ability to apply them effectively in real-world scenarios.

HRDO Director Arthur Gonzalez III emphasized that this program is not just an end but a stepping stone towards a more efficient and streamlined financial system in the university. The participants are now better equipped to contribute to a smoother and more effective process, ultimately benefiting the university's stakeholders.

The STEP UP program stands as a testament to UP Diliman's commitment to fostering professional growth. By equipping its employees with essential skills, the university empowers them to excel in their roles and contribute meaningfully to the institution's overall success.
