TRAINLAB for LNA equips UPD Employees for Workforce Development

The Training Laboratory (TRAINLAB) for Learning Needs Assessment successfully concluded on August 16, 2024, at the David Consunji Theater, UP Institute of Civil Engineering. After months of workshops and FGDs conducted both in-person and online from March to July 2024, the 75 participants are now equipped with the necessary skills to identify and address the specific learning needs of UP Diliman's administrative staff.

Through HRDO and under the guidance of Professor Amelia C. Fajardo and her team, participants focused on the process of planning on the conduct of Learning Needs Assessments (LNAs). They learned how to plan for LNA, identify well-constructed competencies, and aided in the development of the instrument for data gathering to identify learning gaps. Following the successful implementation and completion of the LNA using the instrument, the team reported their future steps, which include creating a detailed curriculum based on the identified learning gaps from the LNA, designing targeted training modules to address these needs, and developing a structured implementation plan for the new training programs.

The successful completion of TRAINLAB is a significant milestone for UP Diliman. By equipping its staff with the skills to conduct effective Learning Needs Assessments, the university can now tailor its training programs to meet the specific needs of its employees, leading to improved performance and overall institutional success.
